We're Approved by SALSA!
We are delighted to announce that we have recently been awarded our SALSA approval following our audit in Autumn 2022.
We have always been tremendously proud of the safety standards, hygiene standards and practices that we uphold at our brewery & distillery so we are delighted that we have been recognised by the UK's leading food safety certification scheme for the UK’s small food and drink producers.
Big credit to our team of brewers & distillers, Ian, Adam, Alex for upholding such high standards & such a safe environment at work when crafting, packaging and supplying our products!
What is SALSA?
Written by experienced food safety experts, SALSA is a robust and effective food safety certification scheme which is appropriate for smaller food producers and suppliers in the UK.
Accredited suppliers can demonstrate that they operate to standards that are recognised and accepted across the industry and exceed the minimum standards expected by enforcement authorities. SALSA approval is only granted to suppliers who are able to demonstrate to an auditor that they are able to produce and supply safe and legal food and are committed to continually meeting the requirements of the SALSA standard.
SALSA plus Beer is the main SALSA food safety audit plus an extensive module on brewing, created by SALSA and Cask Marque.
Additional criteria contained in the SALSA plus Beer Standard were developed to:
- Encourage excellence in the brewing & bottling industry
- Raise the profile of processors within the brewing industry
- Provide a forum for exchange of ideas and
- Give clear guidelines for approval to Brewers & Bottlers
