How Does It Taste
When you pop open a bottle of Stour Valley Gold, you'll be greeted by a beautiful floral aroma with hints of spice and citrus. Take a sip, and you'll notice a refreshing burst of flavour, with the fragrant citrus hops giving way to a mild bitterness at the end. The bitterness is never overpowering, though, making for a smooth and easy-drinking beer that won't leave you feeling weighed down.
Hops Used
Our brewers use a combination of Saaz, Chinook, Centenial, Nugget, Citra, Astra and Admiral hops when crafting Stour Valley Gold. Each type of hop brings its own unique flavour and aroma to the table, resulting in a complex beer that's a true feast for the senses. From the zesty citrusiness of Citra to the spicy kick of Saaz, each hop makes its own valuable contribution to the golden delight that is Stour Valley Gold.

Staple pale gold beer in my home. Great for summer, equally nice for autumn

SVG never disappoints. The first pint is always gone in an instant. Lovely flavour, highly drinkable and brewed just a few miles from my front door. What’s not to like about this ale. It’s my go to order at Nethergate

My Nethergate favourite thus far. This hits the spot for me – full flavoured and with a bit of a bite. Over winter, I stored it in the garage so as to be able to drink it at a suitable temperature. However, as the temperatures are now rising, I’ve begun storing the most imminent bottle(s) in a fridge. This is probably sacrilege to the purist but I haven’t been disappointed.

I don’t know how you managed to instill all that flavour with just the right amount of sharpness and yet keep the alcohol content down to a moderate 4.2% It is a triumph! Great from the fridge too.
