A Unique Fusion of Tradition and Innovation
At Nethergate, we're all about being Traditionally Different. We see ourselves as guardians of a cherished British cask legacy – our hearts beat for the traditional cask beers: those deep, dark-roasted stouts, the timeless English bitters, and the mellow sessionable milds. Over the decades, we've poured our passion into perfecting these classic brews, bringing joy to traditional cask drinkers across the nation in our range of champion beers.
But we're not ones to rest on our laurels. We know that tastes evolve, preferences change, and we thrive on the thrill of innovation and adventure. That's why we're always on the lookout for new ways to excite both our loyal patrons and those eager to explore the ever-expanding world of cask beer.
How does it taste?
Whether you're a staunch traditionalist or a daring explorer of new flavours, discover the taste of White Stout and embrace the unexpected! Discover a revelation in brewing with our White Stout—a mesmerising oxymoron that challenges expectations. This luxurious beer defies convention, presenting the velvety, creamy textures traditionally associated with stouts, yet captivating with a surprisingly pale appearance. Enriched with the infusion of vanilla pods and cocoa nibs, it delivers a sumptuous experience, unveiling silky vanilla notes and subtle hints of chocolate.
Hops Used
Our new White Stout beer is a masterful blend of Boudicea, Crystal, and Challenger hops. Boudicea offers floral and herbal notes, Crystal adds citrus brightness, and Challenger brings robust bitterness. Together, they create a complex flavour profile with earthy warmth, refreshing citrus, and a satisfying bitter finish, making each sip a delightful journey.
Peter Pentney –
Very fruity tast of berries. Sweet and easy to drink

Had a try in Weatherspoon even my wife liked it and her preferred drink is Shipyard or Hazy Jane {not a comparison to White Stout just her preference}.
I would buy this again without hesitation.

I had a pint of this in Wetherspoons and it was lovely. Very smooth, creamy with a nice vanilla flavour. I’d never heard of a stout being white before but this tasted nicer than the more usual darker stouts. Excellent beer, would highly recommend and will buy again.

Liquid white gold

A delightful hint of vanilla adds a layer to the malty foundations. Not a hint of bitterness, despite it being a stout. A superb pint, creamy, smooth, I’d even go as far as to say comforting and cosy. Lovely.
Ignore the review above that mentions berries; this is not fruity at all, but mellow and vanilla in essence (pun intended).

Had a couple pints of this in The Arbour, Ipswich.
I now want to drink it when ever I see it available

Different and interesting but also surprisingly more-ish
Nice Vanilla overtones to a very pleasant beer. Will be ordering more
