Bringing a fun-filled Bavarian weekend to Long Melford!
What?
Our Oktoberfest celebration returns at our Brewery, Taproom and Beer Garden in Long Melford, Suffolk.
Throughout the weekend, we’ll be pouring a fantastic selection of cask beers, including our own small-batch Nethergate brews, a variety of offerings from other top-notch breweries, and three authentic German lagers specially brought in for the occasion (with even more available in bottle!). We've got music, a ukelele band, street food, keg throwing and more!
When?
Mark your calendars! Oktoberfest kicks off on Thursday with an exclusive members-only sneak peak with the doors swinging open to the public from Friday, September 27th, and runs through to Sunday, September 29th.
Where?
The event will take place at the Nethergate Brewery Tap Room & Beer Garden, located on Rodbridge Corner, Long Melford, Sudbury CO10 9HJ.

Beer Tent
In our beer tent, we’ll be offering an impressive selection of drinks to celebrate Oktoberfest in style. We’re serving 18 cask ales, showcasing 8 of our very own Nethergate brews (including some never-before-seen mini-kit trial recipes!) and 10 carefully selected ales from other local breweries to have a diverse and interesting range for all cask lovers. For those looking to indulge in something more Bavarian, we’ll also have 3 authentic German lagers on tap in the tent, bringing the classic flavours of Oktoberfest right to Long Melford!
To keep things simple and convenient we will not be using beer cards, our beer and cider tent will be card-only.
In addition to our cask ales and lagers, we’ll have all of our usual bar drinks available. Enjoy a selection of our handcrafted Nethergate gins, a variety of wines, and a range of soft drinks to suit all preferences.

Forget The Bratwursts
While we won’t be serving traditional German cuisine, we’ve curated a selection of delicious food options that pair perfectly with our diverse range of beers. We’ve brought together Suffolk’s finest food vendors to ensure your taste buds are in for a treat. From the irresistible dishes at Mac St Kitchen to the flavourful delights of our Noodle & Dumpling Bar, there’s something to satisfy every craving.

And what’s an Oktoberfest without music? Get ready to groove to the lively tunes of our local talent, from Ben Smith’s soulful serenades to the energetic melodies of the L.T.P duo. With live music filling the air, our beer garden will be alive with festive cheer, creating the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable Oktoberfest celebration!
Fancy Dress Encouraged!
Embrace the Oktoberfest spirit by donning your finest lederhosen or dirndl! We encourage everyone to get into the festive mood with traditional Bavarian attire. The atmosphere will be electric, with vibrant decorations and lively activities throughout the event. Try your hand at classic Oktoberfest games like keg throwing, adding an extra layer of fun to the celebration. It’s all about immersing yourself in the festivities and enjoying every moment of this joyful event!
Bring The Hound!
We love dogs as much as we love Oktoberfest! Feel free to bring your furry friends along to join in the fun. Our beer garden is dog-friendly, so your pets can enjoy the festive atmosphere with you. Just make sure they’re on a leash and well-behaved, and we’ll make sure there’s plenty of space for everyone to have a great time.
