A LEGACY BORN IN 1986
Back in 1986, two friends set out to brew a beer they’d be proud to serve in any Suffolk bar. The result was Suffolk County, the foundation of everything we've built since. Nearly forty years later, we still brew it right here in Long Melford using pure water from our own Stour Valley well. It’s a literal connection to the landscape that birthed us, ensuring every drop carries the "Suffolk soul" that mass-produced bitters simply can't replicate.
THE AUTHENTIC ENGLISH BITTER
We don’t believe in reinventing what is already perfect. This chestnut-coloured bitter strikes the ultimate balance between malt sweetness and moreish bitterness. Layers of caramel, biscuit, and toasted grain meet the subtle spice of classic Challenger and Fuggles hops. It’s a beer that speaks softly but carries nearly four decades of history—a pint that feels both familiar and deeply satisfying, whether enjoyed at home or in your local pub.
