The Art of the Suffolk Still: Small-Batch Spirits from Nethergate

Crafted by Hand, Rooted in Heritage
Our venture into the world of spirits began in 2020 with the acquisition of two unique stills, affectionately known as Bonnie & Clyde. This expansion allowed us to blend 40 years of brewing expertise with the art of distillation, creating a range of spirits that are "quietly bold" and unmistakably local. Every bottle is distilled, bottled, and labeled right here at our Long Melford brewery and distillery.

Melford’s Suffolk Dry Gin: A Botanical Masterclass
The flagship of our spirit range is Melford’s Gin. To ensure it carries the Nethergate DNA, we infuse it with a carefully curated blend of seven botanicals, including a unique nod to our brewing roots: local hops.

  • The Profile: A fresh, complex, and smooth character with a meadow-flower scent.
  • The Botanicals: Juniper berries, orris root, cassia bark, angelica root, coriander seed, citrus peel, and our signature hops.
  • The Finish: A balanced juniper and citrus finish that makes it the perfect partner for a premium G&T.
