Suffolk Brewery Tours & Distillery Experiences: From Grain to Glass
A Journey Through Brewing History
Our tours at Long Melford are designed to be both educational and social, offering a firsthand look at one of East Anglia’s most storied breweries. Since our founders Ian and Dick first set up their 10-barrel brewery in 1986, we’ve remained committed to the craft. During your visit, you’ll follow the journey of our award-winning ales—from the initial mash to the final pour.
Meet Bonnie & Clyde: The Nethergate Distillery
We aren’t just about the beer; we are a working distillery too. Our tours include a visit to our custom copper stills, affectionately known as Bonnie & Clyde, where we craft our small-batch Melford’s Gin. You’ll learn how we use local hops as a botanical to give our spirits a unique "brewery soul".
What to Expect on Your Visit:
- Expert Guides: Learn the secrets of our core range, including the legend of the Old Growler bulldog.
- Guided Tastings: Every tour concludes with a guided session in our taproom, where you can sample our freshest ales and a nip of our gin.
- Hands-on Experiences: For the ultimate enthusiast, our "Day with a Brewer" offers an unforgettable, immersive look at the brewing process.
