YOUR EXPERIENCE

Begin your visit in our welcoming taproom — pint in hand — as your guide shares how two school friends, Ian and Dick, turned a shared love of real ale into a Suffolk success story.

Then step through the brewhouse doors for an insider’s look at our ingredients, equipment, and the careful processes that keep Nethergate’s character alive in every drop.

Round things off with a guided tasting of our beers — from familiar classics to seasonal specials — and time to relax in good company. Stay for another pint in the garden, or browse the shop for something to take home. After all, good beer shouldn’t be rushed.

ACCESSIBILITY

Our brewery is a working environment and includes stairs and uneven flooring. For visitors with reduced mobility, please call 01787 377087 to discuss access and tailored arrangements. Wheelchair access is available on the ground floor.

A very interesting tour with an informative, friendly and chatty guide. We loved the shop, garden and Tap Room bar which were lovely places to relax and enjoy a fine selection of beers and gins. The unique story behind the history of the brewery was particularly interesting. Hopefully, the new building already underway will make this an even better venue to attend again in the future.

I've been on tours at other breweries but this one was the best. Victoria, our guide, was friendly, with a wealth of expert knowledge and happy to answer all our questions. Having six half pints of Nethergate's best beers, in the order carefully recommended by them, was the icing on the cake. The other people on the tour were good company too. I could not recommend this tour more highly!

Christmas present for my two son in laws and both absolutely loved the experience. Victoria was welcoming, knowledgeable and patient during the tour as the questions were asked.
The ale tasting is a good way to understand the process Victoria describes for each brew of beer along with the group deciding which one they like the best
Many thanks for a wonderful experience and I’ve been asked by the son in laws to arrange another one as their mates want to do it!

We’ve taken quite a few tours of breweries and this one stood out thanks to the knowledge and in depth experience of our guide and host. We got to discuss aspects of both brewing and the logistics of producing and distributing a product that has a short shelf life. Generous pouring of the beers on tap- the tap room is light, bright and welcoming. Booked as a rainy day activity, but even the sun came out in the end!

Fantastic in depth tour by one of the brewers, with loads of information on the history of Nethergate and the brewing process and lots of time to answer questions too. All of the team were welcoming and friendly and the beers spot on with something for all tastes. I'll definitely be back!
