Suffolk County Reserve was created to celebrate 40 years since we first brewed Suffolk County in 1986 – a beer that has become part of our story and one of the most enduring favourites among those who know traditional Suffolk ales.
Rather than simply recreating the original, we set out to elevate it. Brewed as a single, limited-edition batch, Suffolk County Reserve takes the familiar biscuit malt, caramel sweetness and gentle toasted grain of the original and develops them into something deeper, richer and more contemplative. At 6.5% ABV, it offers added warmth and complexity while remaining unmistakably Suffolk County at heart.
A BEER TO TREASURE
From the careful brewing process to its presentation in a beautiful box, every detail was considered. This is not an everyday beer; it is a beer created to mark an occasion, to share with friends, or simply to savour when only something special will do.
The response has been every bit as rewarding as the beer itself. Among those praising the release was legendary Masterbrewer John Bexon, former Head Brewer at Greene King and the man behind the original Abbot Reserve. Having discovered Suffolk County Reserve in his local pub, he described it as "a true masterpiece of brewing skulduggery" - praise that we're immensely proud to receive from one of the most respected figures in British brewing.
Limited in quantity and brewed only once, Suffolk County Reserve is our celebration of four decades of brewing. Enjoy a bottle whilst it lasts.
