While we’ve been brewing traditional ales since 1986, the Growling Dog series is where we let our hair down (and our hops out). These are our "fiercely fresh," modern craft beers, brewed in 440ml cans for maximum flavor and eye-catching style. From the tropical punch of our heavyweight IPAs to the dessert-like richness of our fruited stouts, this range is for the drinkers who like their beer bold, hazy, and full of character.

The Growling Dog Series: Bolder Brewing from Suffolk

A Modern Twist on a Cask Classic
The Growling Dog series was born from our desire to experiment with hoppier, more adventurous styles that complement our traditional core range. What started as limited-edition festival brews—like our fan-favorite Raspberry Milk Stout—have now graduated to permanent fixtures in our lineup due to popular demand.

Explore the Pack:

  • Big Sesh IPA (4.5% ABV): A "fiercely fresh" session IPA designed for all-day enjoyment. It’s golden, hazy, and perfectly balances sweet malt with zesty citrus and floral hops.
  • Tropical IPA (7.5% ABV): The heavyweight of the series. After 18 months of development, we perfected this juicy IPA that packs a "smack of mango, pineapple, and papaya" thanks to a blend of five impactful hop varieties.
  • Raspberry Milk Stout (5.5% ABV): A creative spin on a traditional milk stout. Brewed with lactose for a creamy mouthfeel, it offers a "burst of fruity delight" alongside bold notes of chocolate and caramel.

Crafted with Intention
Every Growling Dog can is brewed right here in Long Melford using water from our own well in the Stour Valley. Most of the series is unfiltered and vegan-friendly (excluding our Milk Stout, which uses real lactose for that signature creaminess).
