Turns out dreams really do get planning permission. After a year of waiting, we’ve finally got the go-ahead to expand our site in Long Melford. Soon we’ll have the space to brew more beer, welcome more visitors, and add some brilliant new facilities for our community — all while keeping our Suffolk soul firmly intact.

We’re absolutely thrilled — and hugely grateful to everyone who’s supported us, not just through this application but since we first moved here in 2017. You lot are the reason this next chapter exists. Cheers.

What’s in the Plan

This is about making our home an even better place to visit, work, relax — and raise a pint. Here’s what we’re lining up:

• Bigger Taproom & Shop — more room to pull pints, chat with friends, and showcase Suffolk’s best alongside our beers and spirits.
• New Café — coffee, cake, and calm… or a cheeky half. Your call.
• Proper Parking — finally! Plenty of space for visitors to us and the neighbouring Country Park (even on bank holidays — hallelujah!).
• EV Super Chargers — top up the car while you top up your glass.
• Landscaped Walks & Children’s Play Area — fresh air, gentle trails, and a spot for little legs to zoom while you sip something lovely.

Focused on Our Environment

We’re a local team and this landscape means the world to us. We’re committed to enhancing — not harming — the place we’re lucky to call home.

• More solar panels to harness renewable energy.
• Extra public EV chargers to make greener travel easier.
• Ground source heat pump to efficiently heat and cool visitor spaces.
• Meadow & hop planting — for biodiversity (and, naturally, great beer). A proper haven for wildlife to flourish.
