As the nights draw in and the year edges toward its winter hush, we’re getting ready for one of our favourite moments at the brewery: our Christmas Lights Switch On. It returns on Saturday 29 November from 5pm, and we’d love you to join us as we welcome the season together.
This year, the evening will feel very much in the same spirit as last year’s gathering; relaxed, family-friendly and celebratory! We’re delighted to share that Santa and Mrs Claus will be rolling in once again aboard their double-decker bus at 5pm - a sight that never fails to raise a smile, even from the most determined December grumblers! They brought so much cheer to our local area during their visit last year, helping raise funds for good causes across the area. We’re so pleased to welcome them back as they continue to support wonderful local charities, schools, foundations and hospitals - last year raising a whopping £2k! We're hoping to give them a very cheery Nethergate welcome when they arrive so make sure you get here, parked up with a pint in plenty of time!

Food-wise, we’re in for a treat. My Thai Chef will be serving on the Saturday night, bringing proper winter warmers with a bit of fire and comfort in every bowl.
Plus Matt McGoldrick takes over the mic from 5:30pm with a run of live music and a dose of Christmas singalongs! There’ll be mulled cider, seasonal beers on the taps, and plenty of space in the taproom and garden for a relaxed evening with friends, family, and neighbours. We can't guarantee the weather so make sure you come prepared!
We’ll flick on the lights once everyone’s gathered, turning the brewery into its annual little pocket of festive glow. It’s a small moment, but a good one, and we always feel lucky to share it with the people who make this place what it is.
Everyone’s welcome. Bring your family, bring your mates, bring the dog and don't for get the woolly hats!
We’ll see you on the 29th.
